OUR FOUNDER
FreeRun Leashes was founded in Marin County, CA by Mary van Kriedt, a certified positive reinforcement dog trainer, animal rights advocate, and avid hiker. Mary was born with the innate ability to connect with animals. She always understood that spending time outdoors with her pets in places where they can run free is the biggest contributor to their mental and physical well-being. Each day, Mary and her pup Quinn explore the wonders of nature together, strengthening their health and deepening their connection. They especially love working together on the agility field.
OUR STORY
One day while getting ready for a trail hike with Quinn, Mary realized she didn’t have a leash with her. She found one of her son’s curly shoelaces in the car and tied it to Quinn’s harness. The hands-free freedom and quick control sparked the idea for FreeRun Leashes.
Over the next few years Mary designed, engineered, prototyped, and perfected the new harness, and was awarded a patent for the innovative design. Today, Mary, Quinn and thousands of other dogs and their owners are happily living the unleashed life that FreeRun Leashes brings.
OUR PURPOSE
Ignite joy and freedom for both humans and dogs in every outdoor adventure.
