Great for hikes and walks. Its so much easier when my dog is greeting other dogs and not dealing with the tangling of leashes. Also love the fact that it's waterproof. Super lightweight, high tech and strong. My 80 pound dog will pull on it and its never a problem.

I’ve been using the FreeRun leash for trail walks with my German Shepherd mix and it’s been awesome. He gets the freedom to sniff around and explore, but I can reel him back in quickly if needed with the retractable leash. It's also super convenient when we pass other dogs, our leashes don’t end up in an awkward tangled mess like they did before. Such a great find for adventurous pups!
I'm happy with it - it could be 6 inches longer. But so far it has worked well with my 80lb Labraheeler and has allowed him more freedom.
I bought this on a whim after reading excellent reviews in articles on running and hiking with your dog. It's a great product! The leash part needs to be longer. Other than that, go ahead and get your dog and you one!
These are great for when you are hiking in places where your dog can be off leash but want to control them near the car or when other people and dogs approach. Love the product

I have a wandering Tripaw’d who is more than curious about what other people are doing. When we’re at the beach, I like to let him roam, but carrying his leash is a bit much when I have other things in my hands. Free run is so convenient because I can let him roam and still grab hold of him (if needed). I would have liked to have a small pouch to keep poop bags handy, but we just strapped one to the handle and it’s workable. Giving my Tripaw’d a little more freedom somehow makes him a little more attentive to where I’m at. Great for off-leash training.
I really love how easy the FreeRun Leash is to use. The built-in 3 foot leash is just the right length to quickly get control when I need it, especially with my dog Mocha. It's truly been a game changer for our outdoor adventures. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish the harness came in an L/XL size for my big boy Jet. Mocha fits perfectly in the M/L, and I'd love for both of them to have this great harness.
Love this product. This is the second time we have purchased it and it’s not because it doesn’t work or broke. We want it to be available if it does break. Our dog rolls around a lot in sand and we just want to be prepared if it breaks. Best leash we have ever had!
I love the harness. It’s super easy to put on and it allows me to walk without having to hold the leash and then try and get a leash on my dog when I need to have him under control would definitely recommend this if you have a well-behaved dog that can be off leash
This is the perfect scenario for my high energy Australian Shepherd.I love that she can run off leash but if I notice someone else approaching I can quickly call her back & immediately have her leashed.
We got our updated 2.0 Free Run leash and it is awesome! The straps are sturdier and we love the addition of the quick grab handle. Also our 2 year old loves walking our dog (or getting walked by our dog) with the free run. This harness system makes so much sense for a well-behaved doggo.
I have not used it a lot, but so far I am really liking it. Super convenient and easy to use, my dog loves it too! She is very good off leash so walking is now much easier with her being able to walk free and on leash when needed!
An absolute must-have for ANYONE who hikes with their dogs pretty much anywhere. My dogs love their Free Run Leashes and they are so awesome - when we come across a dog or hiker or biker or anything on trail they are on an leash *instantly* no scrambling for leashes or like the one time I dropped one leash and then had two dogs trying to hold together on either end of a single leash passing a non-dog friendly other dog on trail (yeah....we made it but....). I love FreeRun leashes. Great idea, great product, best support and service. I love the new handle on this new version. It’s very useful. The retractable leash feels sturdier than the previous version. I wish the D-ring was on the top (dog’s back). Also, there used to be little pockets on the top towards the back which I used to store an extra poop bag or 2. Now those pockets are sewed. But overall this is a game changer product. I get a lot of compliments from other dog owners. I use it all the time, and I can’t imagine our hikes or park walks without it
